Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 2026
We want as many people as possible to be able to use the South Petherton Parish Council website.  For example, that means you should be able to:
• change colours, contrast levels and text size
• navigate most of the site using only a keyboard
• listen to content using a screen reader

We’ve also made the site to be as simple and intuitive as possible to use.

How accessible this website is
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards wherever practical, in line with the Government Digital Service guidelines for public sector websites.
While many parts of this website are accessible, there may still be areas where we fall short. Known limitations include:
• some older documents (such as PDFs and Word files) may not be fully usable with screen readers
• some interactive elements or forms may not work perfectly with all assistive technologies
• some content may not yet meet every success criteria of WCAG 2.2 AA
We are continually reviewing and improving the site to ensure it becomes more accessible over time.
