Parish Office Christmas opening times.

The Parish Office will be closed for the Christmas period from 24th December, and will reopen on Tuesday 4th January 2022. Emails & telephones will not be monitored during this time.

All staff & councillors of South Petherton Parish Council would like to wish you a very merry Christmas a happy & peaceful New Year.

Please be aware that due to unavoidable circumstances, both Clerks are out of the office this week and will NOT be accessing telephone messages or emails.

7th June Meetings are Face to Face at the Recreation Ground

The next Parish Council Meetings will be held on Monday 7th June.

THEY WILL BE OUTSIDE AT THE RECREATION GROUND. PLEASE MEET NEXT TO THE CRICKET NETS.

Please only attend if you feel comfortable to do so and do not have any COVID symptoms.

We will be socially distanced throughout the meeting which means masks will not be required however if you wish to wear one this is fine.

The meeting will be conducted with everyone standing. If you feel unable to stand for the duration of the meeting please bring something to sit on.

For some this might be the first time they have met up with a large group of people so please respect other peoples space and be aware that everyone has different views on how close they wish to get to each other.

 

New Parish Councillor appointed

Welcome to Kara Storey, who was elected as the newest Parish Councillor on 6th May 2021, and thank you to all candidates for showing an interest in serving the Parish.

Kara is currently completing all her paperwork and getting to grips with all things Parish Council, and will be joining the next meeting in her new role as soon as we confirm the date.

This brings the Parish Council back up to a full strength of 15 councillors, but if you are interested in becoming involved in the Parish Council. please still do contact the Parish Office for a chat – we’d love to hear from you, and to get you involved!

It is with great sadness that South Petherton Parish Council have learnt of the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and would like to extend our deepest condolences to HRH Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family.

Buckingham Palace said: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

“Further announcements will made in due course.

“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”
